DB HUMBLE INTERVIEW

Picture
(HALO ROCKZ)  Introduce yourself for those who may not have heard of you…
(DB)  My Rap name is my name David B (DB Humble), but I go by DB for short.  Born and raised in Miami.  The 1st half of my life I was raised with my 2 brother and my mom in Over town.  By the age of 11 I moved with the ol boy (if u not from Miami ol boy means Dad) in Carol City where I graduated from and played for the legendary Walt Frazier CC ZUU.

(HALO ROCKZ)  So tell us how did you get started. where did you begin?
(DB)  As far as I can remember, I listened to my older brother (Anthony) beat boxing asking me to say “the fat boys are back”.  That stayed in my subconscious because when I got in middle school, I’d get kicked out of class for beating on the table and free styling about how my classmates looked.  After High school, I linked up with one of my childhood friends and we started creating.  Fast forward to today, I produce, edit videos, and I guess u can say write(in my head cuz I don’t write) and Formed AMPDOG PRODUCTIONS which I named after my brother Anthony.  Ampdog was his nickname he died July 2017.

(HALO ROCKZ)  Our Condolences about your brother.
How do you handle being an independent artist as far as the support and actually getting heard?

(DB)  I love doing it…  I’m authentic and I feel people will eventually pick up on them vibes. Never had much support so I learned to work alone.  I would be happy with a loyal fanbase then a big one… Quality over quantity.

(HALO ROCKZ)  What do you think about the new artist out today?
(DB)  They are Different, from me that is.  Most of them sounds the same. My ears can’t recognize who is who because of the auto-tune.  Whoever’s hot at that time, that’s the blueprint everybody follows.  Most of them don’t make complete albums or they simply cant. On the other hand, they’re making money and I guess that’s what it’s about for them.  I want the money too, but I want to give the game exactly what its missing.

(HALO ROCKZ)  I’ve heard your music and to me you would be a great addition to this industry. What song of yours means the most to you?
(DB)  Massive Threat… With everything going on in the world, I felt like people who think different are targeted. When it comes on, it sounds like you are getting ready for war. The video is tight and it sounds like my introduction to the game.

Picture
(HALO ROCKZ)  Who or What inspires you?
(DB)  AMPDOG… Besides that I just want people to hear me.  I wanna be able to take care of my family.

(HALO ROCKZ)  What does “music” mean to you?
(DB)  To me music is the manipulation of vibrations.  Music is Math, Science, literature put together.  Music is making your point with style and  rhythm.

(HALO ROCKZ)  Who is your all time favorite rap artist?
(DB)  Tupac.

(HALO ROCKZ)  What boundaries do you think is needed on rap music?
(DB)  If u cant rhyme, be on time, be different and offer the game something creative, then don’t rap.  I feel like u need to be able to write your own sh*t, if you cant, then don’t rap.

Picture
(HALO ROCKZ)  What do you have in store?
Are there projects you’re working on?

(DB)  Yes , I have an album coming out later this year, and I’m making 2 videos which one is coming out really soon on YouTube. I already have 2 albums out on all platforms (Massive Threat and 2nd Time Around). I also have over 10 videos out already.

(HALO ROCKZ)  I know it’s difficult these days seems like it’s who you know Vs a good artist. How do you handle that?
(DB)  Get to know the right people.  I’m not gonna change, so I’m hoping that the right person will and can  hear me, and get behind me.   It’s a business, and the creative side  such as marketing, promotion, distro, etc…   All will have to agree and trust one another, that’s why it's who u know.

(HALO ROCKZ)  Tell us where can we hear your music and more about what’s in store.
(DB)  Well as I said before I have 2 albums out on all major platforms such as  (Massive Threat and 2nd time around).  I have my YouTube (AMPDOG PROUDCTIONS) where u can literally find over 10 videos that I've edited.  I’m currently shooting a video for a close friend and I am working on my 3rd album.  I love doing it, so yes this is my passion.  And yea you are gonna hear from me as long as THE MOST HIGH  allow me to possess this body…

HaloRockz:  What artist out there you wouldn’t mind blessing the stage with you?

Kidd:  Hard, yes beside everything in life is hard, you make easy base on how you apply yourself and how you show yourself to your surroundings. my family supports me even when I'm at my lows, as far as friends some do and some don't, my fans are the core of my support without them their wouldn't be a Da Haitian Kidd.
HaloRockz:  What other hats do you wear? do u have any other hidden gifts?

HaloRockz:  What spark would you say your music bring to the game?
Kidd:  Out the box, because I'm into all genres of music and I do create a lot of genres all depends on the artist I'm working with. As we grow together you will get to see all that is coming in the future.
HaloRockz:  As a performer; What has been your most memorable moment? and why?
Kidd:  It was at an hiphop creole show I was a part of, to see my fans sing along my music word for word. That did something to me and told me to forever cherish that moment into moving forward with my career.
HaloRockz:  Do you have another genre of music?
Kidd:  I am a music producer first, and yes I do produce different genres for artists and will venture into different genres for myself as I evolve.
HaloRockz:  Who is your favorite artist? whether mainstream or independent.
Kidd:  Jimmy Dade, JayBuck, Lavish, Da Poster, Ko-Ed, Fly-Zoe, Rod Wave, and many more.....I Love a great story.
HaloRockz:  What do you do in your spare time if you have any?
Kidd:  MUSIC, I am always working on my music when I'm not spending time with my family.
HaloRockz:  Who/What has inspired you to keep pushing ?
Kidd:  The love I have for music, if I'm not listening I'm making it, and thats everyday for me.
HaloRockz:  Is there anyone you would like to appreciate / shoutout?
Kidd:  My family (wife and kids) love you guys and thank you for always supporting me.
HaloRockz:  Tell us, Where can we listen to your music as well as get more information on your upcoming performances?

HALO ROCKZ: First and foremost thank you for taking the time out for Support the Hustle...
Please introduce yourself for the few who may not have heard of “Tone C Da Mayor”

TONE C:  The pleasure is all mine! I Thanks for Having me! For those who don’t know me....I go by the name of Tone C. Da Mayor, Mr. G.T.P, Get the Pu**y, Get the Paper! Lol... I’m also the unofficial Mayor Of Miramar but will be officially running for office soon!

HALO ROCKZ:  Let’s hear it, Tell us about your name?
TONE C:  My name Actually has a meaning to it! “T.O.N.E.” Means “Trendsetter Of The New Era” & the C is for Comcast because I’m on demand! Hahaha.... I just added on the Mayor due to how I move and contribute to the city! I feel like I really run the city...

HALO ROCKZ:  It’s difficult for independent artists; especially support wise. Do you feel you have that support whether it’s from family, friends, or even social media shares or likes?
TONE C:  Not at all! In all honesty, a lot of people are threatened and intimidated by me so they refuse to support or open doors for me.... Also, People follow what’s popular, not what’s real! & if we’re talking numbers, let me break this down....For example, Let’s say I have 5k fiends on Facebook and 5k followers on IG, that would make 10k supporters right? Which means I should be getting 5k likes and shares on each site and 5k downloads from each As well but that’s not the case.People down here in our market act like you’re a groupie if you support! As of lately I’ve been steering away from worrying about who doesn’t support and just focus on those who do!

Picture
HALO ROCKZ:  What is your most influential creation? #track
TONE C:  I would definitely have to say “W.T.F.W.Y.” , which is the last song on my album! I wrote that when I was in a very dark place mentally and emotionally but it connected with a lot of people! I always get great feedback from that record! That’s one of the realest songs I ever wrote!

HALO ROCKZ:  Do you consider yourself an asset to the music industry? Do tell...
TONE C:  Of course!!! I’m definitely not a liability! Lol...  Not only am I a bilingual Artist & Songwriter, I also own my own music management company called “Mayor Management” where we develop talent, coordinate events, concerts and handle everything else industry related. I got my hands in all pots! I have much more projects to speak on but I’ll let those unfold in front on your eyes....

HALO ROCKZ:  I personally feel you are more then a rapper but a creator, what other hats do you wear?
TONE C:  Haha indeed. I do it all.... Artist, Songwriter, Manager, Mogul, Public Figure & Future Mayor! To keep it short and sweet, I’m just a playmaker! I make things happen! I got the Midas hand, whatever I touch turns into gold....

HALO ROCKZ:  What other genre of music do you listen to?
TONE C:  Being that my background is Panamanian & Jamaican, I vibe reggaeton & reggae heavy...
I listen to Hip-Hop, Pop and Alternative music here and there though...

HALO ROCKZ:  Let’s talk about “Miramar We Live” , How did that come into play?
TONE C:  Haaaaa.. Good question.. Miramar We Live started as an idea on social media and it has turn into one of the biggest platforms in the City. Being the Mayor, you have to be with the people and for the people so I wanted to create something that the whole city can enjoy. I only had plans to do 1 Miramar We Live but it has now turned into an annual concert that showcases Artists from Miramar and the surrounding areas! This year marks our 3rd installment of the concert series. All powered by my management company Mayor Management.

HALO ROCKZ:  Is it going as well as you planned?
TONE C:  It is ! Every year we get bigger and better! By the grace of god! The only problem I have is finding a venue in Miramar but the “real” Mayor and I are working on that as we speak.... The past 2 events have been held in Hollywood but I’m trying my hardest to get the clearance to Rock our in the city.

Picture
HALO ROCKZ:  How did it feel to meet the Mayor of Miramar and to have him actually call you The Mayor?
TONE C:  Super Dope! One of the greatest experiences ever! Who else can say that the Mayor of their city who is running for President of the United States calls them Mayor? lol ... That’s history!!! We’re good friends now too so it’s Litt! Lol

HALO ROCKZ:  What was your most memorable performance?
TONE C:  My most memorable performance would have to be performing at the Martin Luther King festival in Miramar. I was booked by the City of Miramar to perform in front of the city so that was super dope for me and heartfelt for me! Plus I got paid... Talk about a win win! Lol...

HALO ROCKZ:  Name any artist that you would love to bless the stage with?
TONE C:  Hmmmm.... I would have to say Jay Z, Yo Gotti, Alkaline, Popcaan, Meek Mill, And Kevin Gates.

HALO ROCKZ:  Tell us where can we hear your creations and more information about your upcoming performances
(List all social media platforms)
TONE C:  My debut album #HometownHeroLP is Out now everywhere On All Digital Platforms so make sure y’all go get that! You Can ask follow me on all social Media @ToneCDaMayor & subscribe to my YouTube channel at YouTube.com/ToneC954
