During a time in which rap is easily recognized by its monotonous sound, Uno LvIII is emerging through with a distinct individuality backed by weighted vocals that sets him apart. Using not only the rhythm and melodies as inspiration, but digging deeper into the art of music, he has developed an appreciation for the power that music possesses. “It’s
something about the feelings one can create with music, the ability to alter a person’s emotions through words and sounds that makes music so powerful” says the rapper.
Born and raised in Miami, Florida, he began rapping at the age of 16. He turned to music as a tool to translate his experiences in the streets into a language that anyone could understand. In the spring of 2008 he began pushing his first single “My Trap House” followed by his first mixtape titled “Taking Flight” the same summer. The single grabbed the attention of numerous local D.j.‘s and with the opportunity to be heard and the attention of local fans, Uno LvIII introduced his next single titled “Like Ah Star”. “Like Ah Star” was the street savvy remake of singer Taio Cruz’s “She’s Like a Star” and became a record that everyone embraced. Fans loved the anthem and it has remained in rotation locally ever since.
In early 2009 Uno LvIII continued promoting his mixtape, maintaining a steady flow of shows and appearances in the Miami area. However, that summer he had a run in with the law which resulted in him being in the system for the next two years. Despite the brief setback, he has thrown himself into the music once again and has become dedicated to
coming harder than before.
As of fall 2012 Political Party was released as a reintroduction to his fans rapping over industry instrumentals and over a few original tracks.
Currently Uno is wrapping up the completion of “East Side Story” his third mixtape set to debut in 2013. Listeners can look forward to the raw sound Uno always delivers but can also expect a more mature vibe from the evolving artist.
