Yung Rockah - Special Lady Feat. Don Franc
Yung Rockah - You Aint Me Feat. Black Prince
Raised in a house of nine in Lil Haiti, none knew an artist was in the mist of them all with a lyrical language that is part of a legends attribute. “Seeing myself as an artist who paints murals with lyrical poetry and motivate others who do not know me from a can of paint, but they can know me through my words, my music,” spoken by one of Miami’s upcoming indie talents, Yung Rockah. “Hustle while their sleep,” runs through his mind as Rockah has a pen and paper in his hand trying to see a way out of the negative mind set of many. “Growing up in the hood kept me grounded and I plan to live by that day by day.” Seeing his own parents, who are Haiti natives; hustle just to feed their seeds has him have nothing but the upmost respect for the game and how it’s done. “Reflecting on when I used to deal drugs just to make sure I eat and have a wardrobe and seeing that it was not enough, I dared to dream.” A vision of a globe with a music symbol sitting in his hand is only the beginning of his dream, “I want my music to speak for others who people do not see. I want my music to stir up a reform of real music, real positivity, real change,” Rockah says as he bobs his head to Notorious B.I.G. which is one of the artists that his lyrical flow is inspired by. LL Cool J and Rakim fills his head with the northern flow ,but as we go down to New Orleans with Mystical, Atlanta’s Spoken Outkast, and South Florida’s very own Trick Daddy and of course the foundation of old school smoothes out the swagga that Rockah defines. “Nu Kingdum ENT. is the label that will be on the lips of every artist, every producer, every person that it affects,” with surety in his voice, Rockah smiles. Hopefully my music will influence many others to not be afraid to be different, forward, and help the movement.
