REP'S INTERVIEW WITH STH
Picture
STH:       Please tell us your name and how you came about this name.

I go by ReP, its stands for Representin’ Extraordinary Poetry... I actually got this nickname from some of my friends that I started out rapping with. They probably called me that because I was always known to represent something.

STH:       Where are you from?

I hail from Brooklyn, so I’m a New York head but I did spend a lot of my life in Florida also, so I’m a little of a mix.

STH:       What influenced your decision to become an artist?

I’ve always been creative and  I’m an Aquarius so I think it comes natural for me to create. I will say this, my surroundings and friends enhanced the inspiration to do this.

STH:       Who are some of your musical influences?

I’m a big fan of the great music period but I like Outkast, Kanye, Jayz, Nas, T.I., Lupe Fiasco, De La Soul, Tribe Called Quest, The Killers and ColdPlay....Shoutout to Gregory Porter he’s dope also!

STH:       How long have you been pursuing your dream of music?

I started rapping maybe in the 6th grade or a lil bit earlier. I was just having fun but when I got into high school I started taking it serious because people started taking me serious. It’s now 2012.  That’s a hell of a long time so I’d say it’s been at least seven years that I’ve been pursuing this dream.

STH:       What are some of the challenges that you face in the business?

I don’t have challenges...nah, I’m lying (haha). I’d say it’s trying to be consistent because the game is over saturated with a mix of everybody but that's what makes being ReP great cause I can stand out more.

STH:       How do you overcome those challenges?

I always speak with confidence during my interviews. In life, when you overcome obstacles, you first have to have the confidence to do it. As a result, my outlook on all challenges is, approach with confidence and of course always work to get better.

STH:       What are you currently working on?

Right now I’m working on a mixtape with Dj TwoFive which is called “Just To Get A ReP”. It consists of unreleased & throwback material but the concept is dope.  I’m also about to wrap up my album titled “Dare To Fly” which is also a dope ass concept within itself.
