"Jessy James" was born Jessy James Pierre-Louis in Miami, Florida on May 29, 1986. Jessy was always a curious child always wanting to discover and master things. These traits sometimes lead to disorder. With his father passing away, he looked up to his older brother, who inspired him to persue rap. In elementary school, along with a few friends and family members, Jessy was in a rap group called "South Side Brigade". That was short-lived due to his family moving out of Miami for a better living when he was in middle school. Not adjusting to the abrupt move, Jessy acted out and became known as a trouble maker, however his passion for rap never stopped. By this time he began writing his own songs to perform at school functions, but his lack of obedience caused him to be removed from the end of year talent show. With his behavior getting worst he was expelled his freshman year of high school, forcing his family to move back to Miami. Back in his comfort zone he linked up with old friends and joined a rap team named "Street Rep". With little interest in school Jessy would sometimes skip and go to the studio instead. Still focused on his rap career, Jessy became the CEO of a label named DreadWood Entertainment along side recording artist Jimmy Dade.
He was featured on the Crown Boys Cd and on collaborated Mixtapes entitled New Souf, Welcome To Dreadwood Vol 1. He eventually dropped out of high school and later received his G.E.D. In 2007, he dropped a Mixtape with label mate GhostEasy titled "Trix & Dolla Bills" . By the next year he had dropped another Mixtape called "Dope On Wax". Shortly after his mother grew ill and ultimately passed away. One of her last wishes was to see him a successful artist. With that thought in mind Jessy was motivated to do whatever it took to reach his goals. He went on to drop another Mixtape "In My Feelings" which took listeners on a journey through his life and struggles. To this day Jessy James is still dropping dope music and has his music on heavy rotation on the club scene and he intends on keeping it that way. |
